A CLUBBER who was stabbed to death on the street is remembered as a man with a “heart as big as an ocean” in a heartbreaking tribute.
Cops have launched a murder investigation after Jason Bentley-Morrison, 25, was stabbed after leaving a nightclub at 2:45 a.m. in Digbeth, Birmingham.
The clubber sustained a knife injury and collapsed at the scene – before being pronounced dead in hospital later this morning.
His devastated family paid tribute to him after his death, saying he was a man who would go out of his way to help others.
His family said, “To know Jason was to love him.
“Jason’s positive and passionate outlook on life was inspiring and contagious to everyone he met.
“His warmth and compassion extended far beyond family ties and if you asked someone ‘who is Jason?’ they would share the funniest and heartwarming stories of its reach and impact on their lives.
“It was the stranger in the street who offered to help you bring your groceries home. It was the friend who rescheduled his work day to take you to the doctor and make sure. that everything was fine.
“He was the young entrepreneur who taught financial literacy and real estate investing to those struggling to see a way forward and more.
“Jason had a heart as big as the ocean and always put others before him. Never has a man with so little time on this earth affected so many hearts and minds as deeply as he.
“Irreplaceable and forever missed. Our Jason, always.”
A post-mortem examination revealed that Jason had died from a stab wound in the abdomen.
Cops said they were “following a number of lines of inquiry” as they tried to locate Jason’s killer.
Officers visited a home in Kingstanding as part of the investigation.
Detective Inspector Hannah Whitehouse said: “We understand the man left a club shortly before he got involved in a confrontation with another man on the street.
“Our first surveys show that there were a lot of people in the area and that many were filming what had happened on their phones.
“I need these people to contact me because they may have clearly filmed the offender.
“Likewise, I would ask taxi drivers or other motorists who were at the scene to check the dash cam footage to see if they recorded the fight or the offender running away.”
