Cook (MR) |
You will be required to prepare food according to the menu (vegetarian and non-vegetarian, including handling of meat products) and ration accounting. In addition, you will also be trained in the handling of firearms and you will be assigned other tasks for the proper functioning of the organization. |
Steward (MR) |
You would be required to serve food in the Officers’ Mess, as waiters, housekeeping, fund accounting, wine and stores, menu preparation, etc. functioning of the organization. |
Sanitary Hygienist (MR) |
They will be required to maintain hygiene in toilets and other areas. In addition, you will also be trained in the handling of firearms and you will be assigned other tasks for the proper functioning of the organization. |
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENT
- MR (Chef, Steward and Sanitary Hygienist) Entry – Class X pass from a central/state government recognized school board.
- The age of Steward, Chef and Sanitary Hygienist candidates must be between 17 and 20 years old on the day of registration.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Working environment of these branches in addition to their professional work, they were trained on board ships in surveillance duties as well as in the handling of small arms and trained for disembarkation and embarkation teams as well. They are involved in all activities that are carried out by a ship.
TRAINING & ADVANCEMENT
Selected candidates will undergo 14 weeks of basic training at INS Chilka, followed by vocational training in the assigned trade at various naval training establishments. Branch/business will be assigned based on service requirements.
EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES
You can take various vocational courses as per the requirements of the service and certificates of equivalent qualifications from various universities are awarded upon successful completion of the courses. Join the Indian Navy after 10 as a Matrix Recruit (Musician)
Candidates will be required to play musical instruments as part of a naval band during ceremonial parades and other official functions. The Naval Band has also performed around the world.
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENT
- Candidate must have passed Class X (registration exam) and must be proficient in western notation, hearing ability and basic knowledge of music theory. Must also have actual practical skills in any western classical or wind/percussion instrument.
- The age of the candidate must be between 17 and 25 years old on the day of registration.

Selection: Indian Navy Civilian Entrance Test – INCET Exam or Direct Recruitment
Age – Between 18 and 25 years old
Essential Qualities: tenand Standard pass from a recognized Council I institution and certificate from a recognized Industrial Training Institute (ITI).
Nature of tasks/job profile: Indicative duties related to the position are as follows.
(a) Working in the production/maintenance of a store/ship/submarine.
(b) General cleanliness and maintenance of the section/unit.
(C) Transport of files and other papers in the office area.
(d) Photocopies, sending/receiving of FAX, letters, etc.
(e) Other non-administrative work in sections/units.
(I) Assist with routine office work such as diary, dispatch, etc., including computer-based.
(g) Delivery of Dak (inside and outside section/unit)
(h) Monitoring and Service Functions.
(i) Opening and closing tasks
(j) Cleaning of building, facilities, etc.
(k) Dusting of furniture, etc.,
(I) Maintenance of parks, lawns, potted plants, etc.
(m) Any other work assigned by higher authority
To note. The list of tasks above is only illustrative and not exhaustive. The Indian Navy Section Department may add to the list the duties usually performed by personnel at this level.

Relaxation in Height or Less Height:
Less height: The minimum height allowed for a candidate for enlistment in the navy is 157 cm. Lower height candidates other than mentioned are not acceptable and unsuitable for recruitment. No appellate medical examination is granted in such cases. The procedure includes cases, if any, detected during the final medical examination held at INS Chilka.
TATTOO
Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on the inner side of the forearms i.e. from the inside of the elbow to the wrist and on the opposite side of the palm/back (dorsal) of the hand . Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable and the candidate will be disqualified from recruitment.
