Scott Douthett, 63; Musician, Sailor – The Westport Local Press



Scott Peter Douthett, 63, of New York and Tunkhannock, died at the Allied Hospice on Friday, July 16, 2021.

Scott was born in Pittsburgh on December 31, 1957, the son of the late Scott H. Douthett and Anne E. Harris.

Scott was a computer consultant and had a long career in the financial services industry. He started at Merrill Lynch and worked as a project manager in various financial services groups including Thomson Reuters and Wipro.

Scott grew up in Westport, Connecticut, then attended Fettes College High School in Edinburgh, Scotland. He graduated from Columbia University and lived in Battery Park City, NY, for most of his life before moving to Tunkhannock. Scott enjoyed sailing for many years and was the happiest on the water. He loved music and was a talented guitarist.

He is survived by his daughter, Emma Dawn Douthett of Tunkhannock; her sister, Diane Surat of Connecticut, and London, England; his stepmother, Gill MacCabe; sisters: Gillian and Amy Douthett; niece, Chloe; and nephews: Félix and Tom.

The funeral will be on Friday, July 23, at 10 a.m., at Sunnyside Cemetery, 152 Sunnyside Road, Tunkhannock, with Pastor John Shaffer officiating.
